Saviour on spilled blood

Savior on spilled blood was built on the site where on 1 March 1881 Russian Emperor Alexander II was killed by a bomb arranged by a secret terrorist organization “will of the nation". Museum-monument "Savior on spilled blood" is an example of the late"Russian style”. Admire the beauty of four pediments of the porches decorated with mosaic panels. All the walls and ceilings inside the building are covered with mosaics created by the best artists of that time, which makes the church kind of a Museum of mosaic art.
